The data show that the global in-sourcing (IAP) income from mobile game applications reached $21 billion in the current quarter, an increase of 3.4 per cent in the ring (compared with $20.3 billion in the second quarter) and 2.4 per cent in the same year (up from $20.5 billion in the same period in 2024), creating the highest quarterly income record since the third quarter of 2021. This increase marks a return to consumer confidence in mobile games and reflects the continued optimization of head-to-head manufacturers in content upgrading, user operations and liquidity strategies. It is noteworthy that, despite the recovery in income, user access has shown a slowing trend. Global mobile game downloads in the third quarter of 2025 were 11.9 billion, a 3.3 per cent decline in the ring ratio (12.3 billion in the second quarter) compared to 7.8 per cent in the same period (12.9 billion in the same period in 2024). The report further indicates that Asian distributors continue to dominate the global market this quarter. Game companies with headquarters in Asia rank first, both in income and in download. China, Japan and South Korea ‘ s front-runners maintain a leading advantage in global competition through mature local operations, diversified game categories and active outreach to emerging markets.
