The Open World Survival Adventures Game, Deep Sea Lost 2: Alien Waters, officially began its first experience on 14 May, with an initial sale of 1 million people in an hour. Only a few hours later, the developer Unknown Worlds again announced that the game would sell more than 2 million copies within 12 hours, up to the national sales list.

According to SteamDB, Deep Sea Trek 2 has a maximum of 467,582 online players on the Steam platform at the same time. In a press release, Unknown Worlds stated that the “Deep Sea Lost 2” Steam, Epic and Xbox multi-platforms simultaneously peaked at over 651,000 online players. It is about nine times the highest number of simultaneous online players in the late Deep Sea Trek in 2018”.
As the sales of Deep Sea Trek 2 skyrocketed, some pirated players began to make public their “jump-face” developers, bragging on official Discord about how to play piracy. In response to a pirated player, the Director General of Game Design, Anthony Gallegos, said, “Thank you for stealing a game that I have been working on for years, and I am disappointed that this is almost the way we make a living. I hope you will reconsider your choice of life.”

Some users of Reddit ‘ s r/piracy section reacted strongly to the designer ‘ s expression of disappointment, with some claiming that he must be very rich. “It’s like a man in a pure gold suit spits on the homeless.”
It is surprising that pirated players on the r/piracy section are so blatant. Because even iron-bar robbers understand that flaunting piracy isn’t good. This face-to-face behaviour even aroused dissatisfaction among other pirate players. “It’s too slow to go to the server and show off your game of piracy,” a hot comment says.

In a comment by Discord, the official channel of Deep Sea Convey 2, Anthony Gallegos said: “I can’t control the pirate. The economic situation is not good, and money is not good, I understand. But it’s not piracy that pisses me off, but it’s the people who play piracy and laugh at the real players.”
“Now that there’s talk out there, we just want to give the best first experience to the player. I understand and thank you for your support of the studio. I will not tolerate piracy, but I understand why they do it. I’d rather you buy a real game, try one hour before refund, than watch them play it illegally.”

It is worth mentioning that while pirated games are rampant, the Unknown Worlds studio also has economic disputes with its parent company, Krafton. In 2021, when Krafton bought Unknown Worlds, the developer of the Jedi Survival signed a bet deal, and if Deep Sea Trek 2 could reach a sales volume of 2-3 million within a limited time frame, the top of Unknown Worlds would receive a $250 million bonus.
However, Chief Executive Officer Kim Chang-han of Krafton, in an effort to get rid of the bonus, drove several executives of Unknown Worlds out of the house for no reason. The final court ruled that Krafton had committed serious irregularities, ordered him to resume his position as the head of Unknown Worlds and extended the term of the gambling agreement until September 2026. The $250 million bonus, which now stands at more than 2 million copies of Deep Ocean Conveyment II, is likely to depend on Krafton.
